What it does

The Forecast page is your home screen. It shows a 7-day spray conditions outlook for your saved location, plus live current conditions pulled from your nearest weather station (Australia) or Open-Meteo (international).

Spray ratings explained

Each day gets a GO, MAYBE, or NO rating based on wind speed and rain probability.

● GO (green) — Wind ≤15 km/h and rain probability <20%. Safe to spray.

● MAYBE (amber) — Wind 16–25 km/h or rain probability 20–50%. Use judgement.

● NO (red) — Wind >25 km/h or rain probability >50%. Do not spray.

Delta T

Delta T is the difference between dry-bulb and wet-bulb temperature — it tells you how quickly droplets evaporate after leaving the nozzle. The ideal spray window is Delta T 2–8°C. Below 2°C: too humid, droplets stay airborne and drift. Above 8°C: too hot and dry, droplets evaporate before reaching the target. Delta T is available for Australian users via BOM data.

Hourly breakdown (Pro)

Tap any day card to expand an hour-by-hour wind and rain chart. Plan exactly which hours within a day are suitable — not just which days.

What it does

Record completed spray jobs for compliance and record-keeping. Every logged job is saved to your account and can be exported as a PDF report or CSV spreadsheet.

What to fill in

● Date and time · Paddock or area name · Area sprayed (ha or ac)

● Product(s) used — selected from your My Products list

● Rate applied · Water volume · Operator name

Auto-fill weather conditions

Tap Fill Current Conditions to automatically pull live weather data into the job record — wind speed, temperature, Delta T, humidity and rain probability. No manual entry, no errors. Make sure your location is set correctly in Settings before using this.

AI label scan

Tap the camera icon to scan a chemical label. SprayCast uses AI to read the label and automatically extract the product name, active ingredient, registration number, label rate and withholding period.

Tips for best results: lay the label flat in good light, make sure the product name and rate table are clearly visible, hold the camera steady. The AI pre-fills the product fields — always check the result before saving.

What it does

My Products is your personal herbicide and chemical catalogue. Add the products you regularly use so they're available for quick selection when logging spray jobs and calculating tank mixes.

Adding a product

Tap + to add a product. Search the SprayCast database (sourced from APVMA for Australia, and equivalent registries for NZ, UK, US, Canada, EU and South Africa) or add a custom product manually. Save product name, active ingredient, label rate, WHP, re-entry period and notes.

Where it's used

● Spray Job Log — select products directly from your catalogue

● Tank Mix Calculator — add products to calculate total tank volume and rates

● WHP Lookup — quickly check withholding periods for your saved products

What it does

Search any registered agricultural chemical and instantly see its withholding period for each registered crop or use situation. Results are filtered to your country.

Why it matters

Withholding periods are a legal requirement. Selling or consuming produce before the WHP has expired can result in MRL breaches, failed audits and significant financial penalties. Always check the WHP before spraying and record it against the job.

What it does

Works out exactly how much of each product to add to your tank for a given area and water volume. Prevents under- or over-dosing and saves time doing the maths in the field.

How to use it

1. Enter your tank size (litres or gallons)

2. Enter your application rate — litres of water per hectare

3. Add each product from your My Products list and enter the label rate

4. The calculator shows exactly how much of each product to add per tank load

Mixing order

The calculator shows a recommended mixing order based on formulation type (WG, WP, SC, EC etc.). Always follow the label and your agronomist's advice — mixing order matters for compatibility.

What it does

Tells you exactly how fast to drive to achieve a target application rate, based on your nozzle output and boom setup. Removes the guesswork from calibration.

Step 1 — Jug test

Run your pump at normal operating pressure. Hold a measuring jug under one nozzle and collect the output for 60 seconds. Enter the amount collected in mL. This gives the calculator your nozzle flow rate.

Step 2 — Boom setup

Enter your boom width and number of nozzles. If you've set up your sprayer in Settings, these are pre-filled automatically.

Step 3 — Speed table

A table appears showing the travel speed required for every common application rate from 50 to 200 L/ha. Speeds are colour-coded green (good), amber (marginal) and red (too fast or slow). Use the reverse lookup to enter your travel speed and see the actual rate you'll achieve.

Location

Australian users search by town or suburb to select the nearest BOM weather station. International users search by town or suburb. Your location is saved to your account and used across all pages. Change it anytime — useful if you work across multiple properties.

My Sprayer

Save your sprayer model, boom width, number of nozzles and tank size. These pre-fill the Speed / Rate Calculator and Tank Mix Calculator so you don't re-enter them every time.

Units & theme

Switch between metric (km/h, L/ha, °C) and imperial (mph, gal/ac, °F). Toggle dark or light mode. Both settings apply across the whole app including PDF reports.

Profile

Update your name, business name and operator name. These appear on PDF spray records as the operator details.
